We take a look at this charming youth(!) comedy which is a warm up for When Harry Met Sally (although much better than that) starring the quite marvellous John Cusack and wonder at his ability to shotgun a beer.

S04E01 - Back To School (1986)

We've upgraded to video and we've premiered on YouTube. If you fancy checking out how great we both look, be prepared for a crushing disappointment when you realise Charlie isn't as handsome as you thought from his voice (Amanda looks great, though!). Kicking off Season 4 where the theme is 'Misc', Charlie thought he'd played it safe by bringing a film that was just behind 'Crocodile Dundee' in box-office takings in 1986 but also becuase it starred Amanda's 'unofficial boyfriend' Robert Downey Jr.

S03E10 - Midnight Run (1988)

This sweary extravaganza sees Robert De Niro as a bounty (not deer) hunter taking Charles Grodin back to LA for breaking his bail.

There are planes, trains and (yes) automobiles but this is not that kind of movie.

In our last episode of Season 3, we discuss De Niro's 4 strands of acting, Charlie decides his rose-tinted spectacles obviously need a clean and we look forward to Season 4.

Charlie is joined by a special guest! - his ex-roommate Dom who loves all things horror.

We take a look at this classic (or is it?) horror film that is considered genre-defining and we talk about things such as Wes Craven's genius, whether Nancy is the killer (or at least, in on it) and Johnny Depp's acting prowess .

What happens when honour gets taken to far? When a patriarchal figure is removed and, when one man has to decide what is worth fighting for, how far is too far?

S03E05 - Rocky IV (1985)

Charlie is all excited as we're looking at one of his favourite 'if it's on, I'm watching it' movies which is the political-landscape changing, 1985 film 'Rocky IV' starring Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Carl Weathers.

Warning, in advance - this is our longest podcast yet so may want to split it up into two sessions. The length is due to us inviting on Joe Hogarty, from Disney's Nerd Alert podcast and we love Joe so much that the conversation kept flowing and we lost track of the time (that's always a good thing). 

We talk about the KGB surviving in -30 degree Celsius weather with just a car heater for protection, how this film changed the world and Amanda's love of all things Stallone that (spoiler alert) the first other film she could think of his was 'Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot'..
